POLICE shocked a knife-wielding man with a Taser stun gun in Brisbane’s northwest.
Police were called to a disturbance outside a cafe in Carraway Street, Kelvin Grove, about 4.45pm (AEDT). When they arrived, they found a 24-year-old local man armed with a knife.
He dropped the knife when ordered to do so but police say the man then began feeling inside his pockets.
They ordered him three times to raise his hands but he did not comply, and was then warned the Taser would be used.
Fearing he may produce another weapon, an officer used the stun gun. The man was not injured.
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates’ Court on March 3, charged with possession of a knife in a public place, public nuisance, and obstructing police.
